Privacy policy

Yoga Sūtras (yogasutra.net and the Yoga Sūtras apps) is made by Shawn Lyons. This page says what is stored about you, where, and how to remove it. In short: no ads, no tracking, no selling of data, and you can use the whole free part without an account.
Without an account
Your progress (what you have learned, your draws and journal notes, programme days, where you stopped listening) is saved only in your browser or the app on your device. It does not leave the device unless you choose to save a copy or copy a sync code. Downloaded audio is kept in your browser or app storage.
With an account
- Email address, if you sign in with an email code, or an anonymous identifier from Apple if you use Sign in with Apple (Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real one).
- Your progress record, the same information listed above, including any journal notes you write, so it can follow you to other devices.
- Sign-in sessions: a random token per device (we keep only a scrambled form of it) and the device's browser or app name.
- Plus status: whether you have Plus, until when, and how you got it (a deck code, or a purchase).
Payments
Purchases in the iPhone app are handled by Apple, and on the website by Stripe. We never see your card details. We receive only whether a purchase is active, through our payment service RevenueCat, so that Plus works on all your devices.
Corrections and messages
If you send a correction or a message, we keep what you wrote, the card it is about, the email you give (if any) and the country your connection came from, so that we can act on it and reply.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare hosts the site and the database (servers in many countries).
- Resend sends sign-in emails.
- Apple, Stripe and RevenueCat handle purchases.
We use no analytics, advertising or tracking services, and the fonts are served from our own site.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes and are deleted once used. Messages are kept until we have dealt with them.
Deleting your account
In the app or on the site, open Guide › Your progress and choose Delete my account. Your account, synced progress, journal and Plus record are removed from our servers at once. You can also email support@yogasutra.net. Purchase records that Apple, Stripe or RevenueCat must keep by law are kept by them.
Children
Yoga Sūtras is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or its deletion at support@yogasutra.net. The app's Save a copy gives you everything stored on your device at any time.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes, and anything important is announced in the app.
